Walking Is Wonderful

You might have tried Chatty Running but have found that in order to go gently enough you have to walk. That’s not a problem. In fact, walk/running will be much better for you than running too fast and making yourself tired.

It won’t be forever as your walk/running will get you fitter quite quickly and you will soon find that you are doing less walking and more running. Be patient, be kind to your body and let Chatty Running do the work.

You’ll be in good company, as top marathon runners in Japan always start their training with several weeks hiking before they do one step of running. That’s because walking is wonderful for building your fitness and getting your joints, tendons and ligaments prepared for the increased stress of running.
