“If I Want To Become A Faster Runner, Surely I Need To Train Fast.”

You would think so wouldn’t you.

But run too fast in training all the time and your body will not have time to recover between runs. Training faster than chatty, especially if it is just a bit speedier than your chatty pace, feels good.

Faster Runner

You feel like you have had a bit of a workout. But that feeling won’t last forever. After five runs at this pace, your body is crying out for a rest. You feel tired, heavy-legged and all of a sudden running is not enjoyable. You have lost your ‘mojo’.

It happens to so many of us.

Stick to running chatty, build up your distance gradually and you will be amazed how much fitter and faster you get.

It’s how much you do, not how fast you go that makes you a better runner.

I am a lone runner in Telford, I know lots of runners and lots of groups but tend to do my own thing, it would be great to belong to a group and sparkly chatty runners sounds lovely

    • Hi Catherine

We will be starting up our Chatty Sparkly groups again from 11th August.
Tuesday evenings will be in Shrewsbury at the track and Wednesday evenings in Telford, depending on the availability of the venue. I will let you know as soon as we have finalised all the details and know how many we can have in a group.

We are looking forward to getting going again and would love to meet you.

      Best wishes

      Anne
