Did you know that your body is in a constant state of regeneration?
No this isn’t an episode of Star Trek!
Some scientists say that 95% of the cells in the body are replaced every year.

Good job really, otherwise we wouldn’t heal when we cut ourselves or break a bone.
When we exercise, we stimulate our bodies to regenerate or adapt in a specific way. Go for a slightly longer chatty run than normal and your body thinks “Hang on, we’ve run further today. Best make sure we are ready for the next time this happens.”
While you’re having your post-run tea and cake, your body is already starting to adapt so that your body is well prepared, with enough energy, for the next time you cover this distance in your running shoes.
